Overview:

The FortiSwitch AX9008G is the larger of the two FS-AX9000G chassis, providing eight line-card slots, two supervisor slots, and eight power supply slots in a 15 RU chassis, with 25.6 Tbps of bidirectional switching capacity (51.2 Tbps in dual-active mode).

The FortiSwitch AX9000G series are chassis-based Layer 3 switches offering high performance, resilience, and scalability for data center, enterprise core, and campus deployments. The series received the Grand Prix in the Network Infrastructure (Enterprise) category of the Interop Tokyo 2026 Best of Show Awards.

Chassis Architecture

The FS-AX9000G series chassis accepts up to four line cards (FS-AX9004G) or eight line cards (FS-AX9008G) in any combination across its LC slots, plus up to two supervisor modules in its SUP slots. All components — supervisor modules, line cards, fans, and power supply units — are hot-swappable.

FS-AX9000G-SUP — Supervisor Module

Controls the FS-AX9000G chassis and performs packet forwarding. A single chassis accepts up to two FS-AX9000G-SUP modules, and requires at least one.

48x 10/5/2.5/1GbE RJ45 ports and 2x 10GbE SFP+ ports. All RJ45 ports support PoE (802.3bt/at/af, up to 90W per port), with 4,320W of PoE power delivery per card.
