|Fortinet's Michael Valentine Named a 2009 Channel Chief by Everything Channel's CRN|

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Feb. 23, 2009 - Fortinet® - the pioneer and leading provider of unified threat management (UTM) solutions - today announced that Michael Valentine vice president, Americas sales and support at Fortinet, has been named a 2009 Channel Chief by Everything Channel's CRN. Channel Chiefs are recognized as influential executives who consistently defend, promote and execute effective channel partner programs and strategies.
In the two years since Michael Valentine began leading Fortinet's Americas channel organization, he has driven considerable organizational and revenue growth by streamlining and expanding the company's channel sales distribution model. He also led an aggressive charge to improve and develop Fortinet's FortiPartner program by creating additional and more tailored initiatives for all partner levels and segments. Valentine's 2008 results speak for themselves, demonstrated by the 32 percent year-over-year growth in Americas revenue, the 900 new channel partners, and the coveted Best New Vendor award of excellence award from Ingram Micro.
This is the seventh consecutive year that CRN has developed the Channel Chief list. Top Channel Chiefs were chosen based on criteria including policy and program innovations made during the past year, the amount of revenue their company generates through partners, their willingness to speak out publicly on behalf of the channel, and the number of years they have dedicated to channel activities.
