Failover Protection for Inline FortiGate Deployments

Keeping critical networks secure and available 24 X 7 is serious business and Fortinet understands the needs for secure, high-availability networking. The FortiBridge-1000 series are designed to provide maximum network uptime and protect against FortiGate system failures and/or power outages.

The FortiBridge-1000 system is an ideal solution for enterprise organizations to provide failover protection for FortiGate units deployed inline in transparent mode. The FortiBridge-1000 utilizes multiple failure detection technologies and features Zero Power Fail Open technology that allows the FortiBridge systems to fail open during power failure to continue the flow of network traffic.

Two FortiBridge models provide flexible connectivity to meet every customer’s requirements.

• FortiBridge-1000 Supports 4 auto-sensing 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports
• FortiBridge-1000F Supports 4 SFP Gig Ethernet ports

The FortiBridge-1000 keeps network administrators up-to-date on system failures through logging and alert email notifications and facilitate quick and easy inline deployment of ForitGate devices. Fortinet’s FortiBridge technology is not a replacement for Fortinet’s High-Availability Clustering technology as all security services are unavailable when utilizing the FortiBridge’s bypass (fail open) technology.
