The Fortinet MSSP Advantage
Fortinet's architectural flexibility and ASIC-accelerated platforms allow for a wide range of MSSP deployment scenarios, ranging from SMB on premise equipment to multi-gigabit full content scanning, core network or datacenter environments. Fortinet’s MSSP enabling technologies include:
The FortiGate Toolset: Provides networked data protection at network speeds with the award-winning FortiGate systems. Based on a revolutionary architecture, FortiGate appliances are ASIC-accelerated networked data protection platforms that combine all of the capabilities necessary for complete, real-time antivirus/antispam, firewall, IPSec VPN, SSL VPN, intrusion prevention, URL and Web content filtering and application control protection.
Advanced Threat Protection: New cloud-based and IP reputation security services help protect against today’s advanced persistent threats (APTs) by using behavioral attributes and real time IP monitoring to detect malware.
Virtual Domains and Devices: In 2004, Fortinet engineers introduced the concept of a “Virtual Domain” or VDOM, enabling multiple, logically separate, networked entities to co-exist on one piece of hardware. In 2010, Fortinet announced four new virtual appliances, FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and FortiMail. These appliances work in conjunction with physical appliances and Fortinet’s related services to provide customers with a choice of physical and virtual form factors – enabling MSSPs to extend their SaaS (Security as a Service) offerings and simplifying the task of securing virtual assets for SMB and enterprise clients. In addition, Fortinet has simplified management, configuration, analysis and upgrade processes by maintaining a common user interface across its entire product line.
